Katimex® has developed the new X-Blow® Micro blowing device to enable electrical contractors to respond to the growing demand for fibre optic installations in buildings in a time and cost-saving manner. With this compact and handy new development, both FttB and FttH blowing processes can be carried out quickly and easily. And all with just one product!
Tool-free blowing in of fibre optic cables
The modular blow-in system comprises a manual feed unit, a divisible blow-in chamber for SNR 7 (2-3 mm cable Ø) or SNR 10 (3-4 mm cable Ø) and a compressed air unit. The divisible blow-in chamber can be converted completely without tools. With high blow-in performance, fibre optic cables are gently blown into Speednet tubes over a distance of up to 1,500 metres.

What is the X-Blow® Micro?
The X-Blow® Micro is a blowing device from Katimex® that has been specially developed for the installation of fibre optic cables in the FttB (Fibre to the Building) and FttH (Fibre to the Home) sectors. It enables the gentle blowing of fibre optic cables into empty conduits or Speednet pipes (SNR) over distances of up to 1,500 metres.
What applications is the X-Blow® Micro suitable for?
The device is suitable for both house connections (FttB) and in-house installations (FttH), particularly at network levels 3 and 4 (NE3 & NE4). It is designed to support electrical contractors with the growing demand for fibre optic installations in buildings.
What cable and conduit diameters does the X-Blow® Micro support?
The X-Blow® Micro is compatible with cable diameters from 2 to 4 mm and conduit diameters of 7 mm (for 2-3 mm cables) and 10 mm (for 3-4 mm cables).
What components are included with the X-Blow® Micro?
The blow-in unit comprises a manual feed unit, a divisible blow-in chamber and a compressed air unit. Depending on the set variant, additional accessories such as centring inserts, fibre optic scissors, Glit® Air cable lubricant and an empty conduit cutter may also be included. All components are supplied in an L-box that complies with the standard for electricians.

What additional devices are required for operation?
A cordless screwdriver with torque clutch and a compressor are required to operate the X-Blow® Micro.
Are there accessories for the X-Blow® Micro?
Yes, there are accessories such as the uncoiler for fibre optic cable drums, which makes it easier to unwind fibre optic cables, and the Glit® Air cable lubricant, which has been specially optimised for blowing in fibre optic cables.
